The suit sets the tone

The groom's suit sets the level for the rest of the party. If the day is formal, a dark suit or a tuxedo lifts everything; if it is more relaxed, a lighter suit in linen or wool may suit the mood better. Start by agreeing on how formal the day should be, and let the suit follow that decision.

Cloth and colour by season

The season decides a great deal. For a spring or summer wedding, light materials such as linen and wool in lighter tones are comfortable through a long day, even when it turns warm. For autumn and winter, heavier wools give more body and hold the warmth better. Navy and grey are safe choices year round, while earth tones and lighter shades suit the brighter months.

Outdoors or indoors

A wedding in a garden or on a beach makes different demands from one in a church or a hall. Outdoors, light, breathable cloths win, and a lighter colour handles sun better. Indoors you can go darker and more formal. If you change location during the day, choose a suit that works in both places rather than one that only suits the one.

Groom, best men and guests

There is no rule that the groom and the best men must match. It often works best when the groom stands out a little, for example with a different cloth, a different shade or a detail the others do not have. If you want a unified line, agree on colour and level of formality in advance, and let the small differences do the rest.

Order in good time

A suit cut for you takes time, and a wedding is not something to rush. The lead time on a made-to-measure suit is typically three to five weeks, but book your first appointment eight to twelve weeks before the day. That leaves room for fittings and for adjusting the final details calmly, without it coming to a head just before the wedding.

The process begins with a conversation at the Showroom in Copenhagen, where you meet your personal designer. You talk occasion, mood and style, the cloths are out, and cut, colour and details are chosen together. From there your measurements are taken, and the suit is cut for you with a fitting along the way.
